Thanks to our generous sponsors and partners, Veteran Art Tribe provides classes at no charge to the Veteran.
We are an inclusive and thriving Veteran to Veteran community that is open to veterans of all branches and eras. Our veteran artists and instructors provide free creativity workshops to veterans, service members, military family members, and caregivers in the hopes of combating trauma and isolation through community and creative expression. Our goal is to offer opportunities for support and healing to the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country, as well as the caregivers who support them. We use various forms of visual arts, crafting, music, and writing to help veterans cope with service-related trauma by fostering self-expression, resilience, and confidence, transforming trauma into an art and healing.
Thanks to generous sponsors, partnerships, and supporters like you, our classes are able to be offered at no cost to veterans and their families. Thanks to our community partnerships with Brushwood Center’s At Ease Program, The Mission Continues, American Legion Cicero Post #96, American Legion Tattler Post #973, Chicago Opera Theater, Chicago Vet Center, Kids Rank, Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind, and the National Park Service, we have been fortunate to serve hundreds of workshop participants over the past two and a half years. These workshops, along with public art exhibitions, aid our military veteran artists in successfully pursuing new careers as artists, teachers, and curators while promoting financial stability and re-integration into fulfilling roles in civilian society.
We are always looking for opportunities to share creativity with veterans and share our individual work with the general public. If you are interested in working with us or supporting our mission in any way, please email us at VeteraArtTribe@gmail.com.
